Lovely welcome and wonderful home. The indoor pool is booked for personal use which is a great idea. Location close to beaches a short drive away. Thank you Helen & Danny for a wonderful stay at Hollyhocks, Colmer Estate. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were blessed with a week of good weather.
The accommodation is superb with lovely touches and we were very grateful for the welcome pack and how many other provisions there were.
The estate was fab too and the outdoor pool was used daily.
It is our first trip with our new dog Cody and we appreciated the little touches for him too.

Lovely clean and tastefully decorated apartment with lots of extras. Had a great time, it was our first time away for a while.
Adrenaline Quarry near Liskeard and a visit to Looe for fish and chips are highly recommended.
Kingsbridge is a sweet place to visit and so is Salcombe (nice little shops). Hope Cove recommended too.
‘Cook’ frozen meals at the garage at Cali Cross are a good easy option.
Slept very peacefully here at Hollyhocks.

Another lovely visit, largely sunny but not scorching like last year.
Enjoyed Adrenalin Quarry again and even made the zip line and inflatables myself aged 56!
Lovely walks on Dartmoor, local beaches and in Dartmouth and Salcombe. Enjoyed a lovely meal at the Ship Inn in Ugborough and went to the Cali again for convenience – good food again.

Many thanks to Helen & Danny for two wonderful holiday weeks. Very thoughtful – on arrival Sunday evening we were delighted to receive food, fresh eggs and butter. Helen & Danny are very nice hosts. Colmer Estate is a lovely place with wonderful things to do for the whole family.

We had such a restful stay. We really appreciated all the little touches (flowers by the bed), beautiful garden, welcome pack with essentials. Very useful well equipped kitchen with knife sharpener! (so rare)
We made full use of the swimming pool and tennis in all forms and enjoyed walked our dogs through the grounds.
We know the area well so can recommend breakfast or lunch at Aune Valley cafe. The meat from there is top notch. Good for a BBQ. Walks at South Milton beach and a farewell walk with fish and chips on Slapton beach.

Our experience at Hollyhocks was fantastic. What an amazing home, surrounded by beautiful grounds! Kids loved exploring the garden, swimming in the pool and playing with the board games. They were also very excited to be able to play with ‘new’ toys. We booked last minute needing to get away from work problems and pressure. It was just a short break but worked wonders! We are ready to go back to our careers.

We left feeling very sad to depart – would have loved to stay longer, all of us just had the best time – children loved the pool and the games in the cupboard on a wet afternoon and our dog Ted was instantly settled, he loved it too.
Thanks for the leaflets in the folder we found an amazing place to eat as a result – the Lobster Pod bistro in Hope Cove, a great end to a great day of exploring around the coast including Burgh Island which the dog loved too.

The most well equipped apartment we have ever stayed in! There was olive oil and spices available for cooking, the kids loved all the toys, games and indoor pool when we were stuck inside on a rainy day. Beds were super comfortable. The owners were quick to reposed and communication was easy, Overall the apartment was beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. We ended up staying two extra days because we loved it so much!

What a lovely place! We have had a VERY wet and windy few days here, so have really appreciated the toys and games you provided and of course going in the pool every day! Also loved introducing our boys to a record player.
The National Aquarium was a great place to take the boys and we loved doing a boat ride from Dartmouth too. Fish and chips looking out over the harbour went down well too.
Your apartment has been so comfortable and so beautifully furnished – thank you for a very enjoyable stay!

We’ve had the best time away as a family in your beautiful home. We’ve had everything that we could have needed and felt so at home. All the extra touches were so thoughtful:
- Our little boy loved using the pool toys, games, toys and activity pack that was left.
- We had a delicious cream tea with scones, clotted cream and jam. THANK YOU!
The estate was perfect and we loved spending our evenings exploring – spotting wildlife and playing in the woods, lake area and tennis court. The home is beautifully finished and really comfortable.
We’ve explored Bantham, Plymouth, Torquay, Brixham and visited the National Aquarium, Pewnnywell Farm and lots of local beaches.
We would definitely recommend and visit again!

We had such a lovely stay at Hollyhocks, and we have been raving about it to all our 40 strong wedding party dotted around the area. Everyone else was saying they had no milk or bread and here we were with not only milk and bread but a scone tea on arrival and everything we could possibly need. We would have loved to have stayed longer just to enjoy Hollyhocks, the Colmer Estate and surrounding areas. So warm and cosy, a home away from home. p.s. We had the most lovely family break in your home, it’s cosy, comfortable and has beautiful little touches. We met Danny briefly yesterday and explained to him that we’re a blended family and the we had chosen to stay here because it was close to our daughter’s home. Lexi is autistic and hasn’t stayed over night with us at our home. We thought we could have her in the daytimes to experience having a holiday with us but take her home to her mum and stepdad if she didn’t want to sleep over. She slept overnight on Saturday. This was such a big deal for us and we will cherish this memory.

This is a wonderful stay and I love the big fluffy blankets. I like that there was free food and drink. You’ve got very pretty flowers. It’s very homely (that a good thing). Weather was terrible but we still braved and enjoyed the beaches at Bigbury, the moors and had a nice afternoon browsing in Salcombe. Loved the pool and the grounds. Loved watching the squirrel and the birds especially the woodpecker – would love to return. Joel, Bryne and family

Danny and Helen, what can we say, you made us so welcome right from the beginning with a tour of the grounds and amenities, to explaining everything in the apartment and keeping in contact throughout our stay. You have been excellent hosts and own a super ‘little gem’, thank you. As everyone else has already commented the extra touches mean a lot, the flowers, the hamper and the use of everything in the kitchen and bathroom. We also look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future thanks again Denis and Colin

Amazing few days in a stunning location and beautiful grounds. Perfect apartment relaxing and accommodating, couldn’t ask for more. Beautiful place in beautiful surroundings, where we felt instantly relaxed and at home. We visited Bigbury-on-sea and had a lovely meal at Maha Barat in Kingsbridge. What a great place to stay. Great to get away! We all loved being able to swim as a family. The apartment is comfortable, clean and modern. The welcome hamper is a lovely touch and the children found new toys to keep them busy. We didn’t have the best of weather but visited Bigbury-on-sea and Mothecombe. The Indian Maha Barat in Kingsbridge is a good takeaway. Looking forward to visiting again late in the summer The Vos family

Thank you for a wonderful holiday post lockdown. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything we could have wanted. The welcome hamper and flowers were a lovely touch. The apartment is a great base for exploring: Wembury, Kingsbridge for crabbing, South Milton Sands, Bigbury on Sea etc. The kids said it’s their favourite place to stay at Colmer yet! The Atwoods
